Motivation was one of the biggest problems for me. It seems that I surely am not alone in this. At the beginning most of us start being super motivated, imagining about how we will be/feel/act/ after we achieve our desired weight. That adds to the motivation.

However, very soon we start to really understand the obstacles that truly exist between us and our set goal of weight loss. We tend to suddenly realize that the achievement of our goals will require more time and dedication than we first imagined. Then we could start second-guess ourselves, our goals and choices. "Maybe it is OK to be fat? At least I am happy now... Maybe I don't really need to go through this rigorous fat loss process... ?"

1. Define and write down your "Power Statement"

Goal setting is of extreme importance. We all know that, but not everyone does it. Think of the reason why you want to get in shape. Is it for building your confidence? Is it for attracting the opposite sex? Or maybe "just" to improve your health and simply to feel better? Go back to very basics. There lies the true long-term motivation.

Once you've thought about your "reason whyâ", start thinking of the end result and the benefits it is going to bring. What will happen when you become more confident? What will happen when you become much more attractive to the opposite sex? What is going to happen when you are going to be in the best shape in your life? Just doing a little day dreaming should start to get you excited very fast.

Once you have done this, take a pen and paper, write down those questions and fill in the answers. This is now your power statement.

2. Read your Power Statement daily

Once you have written it down (if you haven't done it yet, do it right now!) put it next to your bed where you will see it each morning and each evening. This will help. Trust me.

Each morning and each evening read and reread your power statement to yourself over and over several times repeatedly. Say it in your head, say it out loud, you name it. Bring the statement to daily life, feel the enthusiasm and excitement for wanting the end goal. Feel the energy you have behind your reason why. You will soon find yourself getting anxiously (in a positive sense) fired up.

This may feel a little silly at the beginning but give it a try over a few days, it DOES work and it WILL increase your desire to get started on achieving your ideal body.

3. Get organised

Now you should have your power statement in mind, and now you should start buzzing with enthusiasm and ought to be really keen on starting an exercise program and start your weight loss process as fast as possible. But you are not a member of a gym.

If you truly intend on exercising at a gym, join one without procrastination. If you want to swim several times a week in order to get in shape, join your nearby swimming baths as soon as you can. If you intend to run outdoors, get yourself some running gear. The key here is to start acting towards your goal as fast as possible!

If you haven't got these basic things in place, regardless of how motivated up you might be for getting in shape and losing weight fast, you have an extra barrier to exercising that needs to be dealt with as fast as you can. This maybe is an obvious one, but for some of us the obvious sometimes needs to be pointed out regardless.

4. Have a plan

So you have finally decided to commit to weight loss, or tone up, or build muscle? Fantastic, that's awesome! So what exactly will do now? Where will you start? Should you start by going to the gym? What should you do when you get there?

Fail to plan, plan to fail, as famous saying says. Heard that before? I hope so, because this also applies to getting in shape. If you don't have a plan, you'll aimlessly do a bunch of random exercises that likely aren't geared towards your weight loss goal, thus not getting the results you truly want. You could then become discouraged, and stop exercising thereafter. Not good.

Exercise and diet are two peas in a pod, to get your ideal body by losing weight as quickly as possible, you'll need both of them. Get a plan for your diet, weight loss supplement and get a plan for your exercise routine. You will then have everything you'll need to succeed.

These tips helped me to motivate myself. I hope they will help you as well.
