If a woman gains weight after 35, it is easier for her to accept it. A heavy frame is an obvious result of a few pregnancy pounds that lingered on and few pounds your body adds on a regular basis as it prepares for menopause. However, being obese and overweight as a teenager seems like an unpardonable offence, especially if you are a girl.

The problem of obese teens is very common today and worse it is not restricted to any particular country. While puberty is the chief cause for sudden weight gain in teenagers, there are other serious issues such as food choices, lack of exercise and lifestyles habits that causes one to put on pounds beyond the acceptable limits. Teenage girls are more concerned about their weight because it influences their appearance. There is a craze to look slim, trim and beautiful that is totally justified at their age.

Trying to maintain healthy weight is a good decision. What you require to pay attention to as a teenager is how you choose to shed those extra pounds. If you've been unable to come up with a concrete yet safe weight loss plan, here are a few tips to get you started. So, read on and pick what you think beneficial.

Dieting does not mean Starving

Why speak only of teenagers, as adults too we take for granted that dieting means starving. Dieting does not mean starving your body of essential nutrients and minerals; it only means making slight alterations to your diet and diet plan. There are different ways to do this.

Firstly, reduce your daily calorie intake by a healthy amount. It should not drop below 1800 calories if you lead a sedentary life and below 2200 calories if you lead an active life. Secondly, break up the total calorie intake for the day into 5-6 smaller meals. These small meals will curb hunger pangs if you are used binge eating.

Thirdly, choose healthy foods. Reduce your intake of fatty, oily and sugary foods and increase the intake of fruits, vegetables and fibrous foods. Limit junk food to an occasional treat. You can have a banana, carrot or crackers as snacks instead.

And finally, change your meal schedule. Eat on time and stick with the schedule. As far as dinner is concerned, eat your last meal by 7. It allows enough time for the foods to digest and negates the chances of fat buildup fuelled by indigested material.

Huff... Puff... Run on your Treadmill

How we hate exercise! But girls, it is the only way to achieve a svelte figure in the least possible time. Exercise burns fat. It also builds muscle needed to keep the body's fat-burning furnace going. A routine comprising cardio and strength training can be your best bet, but if you dislike either you can concentrate on what you like while also dedicating a little time to the other. Set aside 30 minutes or an hour for exercise every day. Start slow and challenge the body gradually. Working out first thing in the morning achieves the best results.

Liposuction - Not a Choice for you!

Some teenage girls are in such a hurry to burn fat and flab that they even consider medical procedures such liposuction. Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery that eliminates fatty deposits under the skin using suction. It is effective, there is no doubt about it, but it also involves risks with chances that the surgery might backfire. Additionally, it is expensive. Hence, we do not recommend liposuction or other cosmetic surgeries for teenagers. At such a tender age, we would rather suggest the use of natural supplements to lose weight fast.
