Getting rock hard abs is not hard. But it can be if you do not follow the right abs program. Too many people get it all wrong and do crazy stuff like perform hundreds of crunches a day or get the latest ab equipment advertised on TV. All that may work a little bit but the best and most effective way to get rock hard abs will always be the same and that is through proper diet and exercise.
It all starts with a healthy diet full of natural foods like oatmeal, eggs, and peanut butter. Eat foods like these every 3 hours starting with a healthy breakfast in the morning. That way you start your day off right and are less likely to binge on junk food later on.
Try to eat 5 to 6 times a day to help shrink your belly fat and reveal your rock hard abs. You can have junk food about 10% of the time. Eating food like pizza and cookies 10% of the time will actually make it much easier to stick to your diet since you will not feel guilty and this is actually good for fat loss because ti keeps your body guessing.
Just make sure your meals are about the same size so you do not eat too much and end up feeling bloated. It will keep your metabolism fast and your cravings to a minimum.
Once you got your diet down start working out. If you feel you are really out of shape then do not worry about doing exercises. Instead just be more active by going for walks frequently until you feel you are ready for doing more intense workouts.
An abs workout would include ab exercises like...
Reverse Crunches - Do these by laying on the floor. Then pick your legs up with your knees bent at about 90 degrees. Bring your knees to your chest and back for one rep.
Hanging Knee Raises - Grab onto a pull up bar with your body straight. Then bring your knees up towards your chest and back down. These are very good for strengthening your lower abs just like reverse crunches.
Sit Ups on an Exercise Ball - These are easy. Just sit on an exercise ball right for your size. Then while balancing yourself arch all the way back and forward to do crunches. These are way better than doing crunches on the floor. An abs workout including exercises like these should be performed 3-4 times a week. At first you should keep your set ranges from 2 to 4 of 12 to 15 reps.
